Global Success for the first LIFE VINOSHIELD Webinar

Online | December 10, 2025

The LIFE VINOSHIELD project reached a major milestone this month with the successful hosting of its first international webinar: “Shielding the future: innovative net solutions for climate-resilient viticulture.” The event was a resounding success, bringing together 83 participants from 25 different countries. This impressive turnout for the project’s first public presentation highlights the global urgency and high level of interest in sustainable climate adaptation solutions for the wine sector.

Climate extremes – from late spring frosts and devastating hail to intense heatwaves – are putting European vineyards under unprecedented strain. The webinar provided a platform for researchers, technical experts, and practitioners to share science-based results and practical field experiences.

The session focused on how multifunctional protective nets can help:

  • Limit climate-related damage and safeguard grape quality.
  • Reduce the need for chemical treatments, promoting a greener sector.

Support the long-term economic resilience of winegrowers.

If you were unable to join the live session, or if you wish to revisit the technical presentations, the full recordings and presentations are now available online. This resource is essential for any viticulture professional looking for practical solutions that can be applied directly in their own vineyards.

The LIFE VINOSHIELD project is built on collaboration with the industry. We invite all winemakers and technical experts to participate in our survey to help refine these technologies for real-world application.
